The agreement between you and TheSyn AI. The short version: we produce drafts, you verify them, and how you use them at your institution is your responsibility.

01 Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TheSyn AI ("the Service", "we", "us"), available at thesynai.com. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

02 What the Service is

TheSyn AI is an AI-assisted academic writing tool. It produces draft academic content from inputs you provide — including thesis chapters, research proposals, full journal articles (quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods), reviewer responses, humanized rewrites, and AI-detection reports.

Where you upload a data file, the Service may perform statistical analysis on that file and write a document interpreting the results. Where you upload journal or university guidelines, it may format the output to match them.

The Service operates on a credit system. Generating content consumes credits.

03 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, to use the Service. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

04 Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

05 Credits and payment

The Service is paid, on a credit basis. Credits are purchased through a third-party payment processor and are consumed when you generate content.

Credits are deducted only after a generation succeeds. If a generation fails or is blocked, credits are not consumed.

Prices and credit costs are displayed in the Service and may change over time. Changes do not affect credits you have already purchased. All purchases are subject to our Refund Policy.

06 Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Generate content for unlawful purposes.
  • Violate the academic integrity policies of any institution.
  • Submit AI-generated content as your own original work where your institution or publisher prohibits it.
  • Upload data you do not have the right to process, or identifiable human-subject data in breach of your own ethics approval.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, overload, or bypass any part of the Service, including the credit system.
  • Infringe the rights of others.
Academic integrity is your responsibility, not ours.

Universities, journals, and funders each have their own rules about AI assistance, and those rules differ and change. It is on you to know what your institution permits and to comply with it. We provide a drafting tool; we do not certify that using it is permitted where you study, work, or publish.

07 AI output — read this one

Content produced by the Service is generated by artificial intelligence. Although the Service searches and verifies references before writing, and computes statistics from the files you upload rather than inventing them, no automated system is free of error. Output may contain inaccuracies, misinterpretations, mis-cited sources, or statements that require correction.

You are responsible for reviewing, fact-checking, and verifying everything you generate before you rely on it, submit it, or publish it. Check every reference. Check every number against your own data. Read the whole document.

The Service does not guarantee accuracy, completeness, originality, publishability, or acceptance by any institution, supervisor, examiner, or publisher. It produces drafts. What you do with them is your judgement and your responsibility.

08 Your data and files

When you upload a file, its contents are transmitted to our processing providers so that the document can be generated. You confirm that you have the right to upload and process any file you submit.

You should anonymise or pseudonymise research data before uploading it, and should not upload directly identifying participant information. How we handle your data is set out in the Privacy Policy.

09 Who owns the output

As between you and us, you own the content the Service generates from your inputs. You are free to use, edit, and publish it — subject to these Terms, and subject to your own responsibility for its accuracy and appropriateness.

10 Our intellectual property

The Service itself — its software, design, prompts, branding, and the name "TheSyn AI" — belongs to us and is protected by applicable law. These Terms grant you the right to use the Service. They do not grant you any rights in our trademarks, software, or systems.

11 Third-party services

The Service depends on third-party providers for hosting, infrastructure, AI processing, text processing, and payments. Your use of the Service may therefore be subject to their terms as well as ours. We are not responsible for their acts, omissions, or outages.

12 Availability

We aim to keep the Service running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

13 Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

14 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, nor for any loss arising from your use of the Service or your reliance on generated content — including academic penalties, rejected submissions, or reputational harm.

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

15 Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive it.

16 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Iraq, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

17 Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
